Simple long CPU benchmark to test m3,i5,i7

hi guys, got 2017 macbook i7 1.4ghz 16gb ram replace m7 1.3ghz 2015 macbook. ran 20minute benchmark try compare speeds in longer cpu tests.

using p7zip benchmark mode find 26.5% increase in cpu performance between 2017 & 2015.

it'd useful numbers 2017 i5 & m3 can compare sustained cpu benchmarks. can if you're comfortable in command line terminal shell.

1). install p7zip first install home-brew (https://brew.sh) running first command on command line.

a) /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fssl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/homebrew/install/master/install)"
b) brew update
c) brew install p7zip

2). close apps , let macbook idle 5 minutes or cool off above.

3). run benchmark on command line: 7z b 3 -mm=\*

takes 15-20minutes (we can make longer replacing 3 more iterations - think it's long enough).

copy paste last few lines. here's got:
