Apple TV 4K... quirks


hey guys

go along thread, have samsung ue55js8500 on latest firmware (1501 me).might useful see trends across apple tv's or combinations of specific sets/manufacturers , each other out.

here's list of quirks i've noticed apple tv 4k, great know has similar or opposite. try pictures of few can below, if anyone's interested.

• when setting 4:2:2 in 4k hdr 60hz bad banding on ui, noticeable on grey gradient settings , whilst watching content - noticeable on trailers ghost in shell in movies , planet earth in iplayer.
• setting 4:2:0 4k hdr 60hz eliminates banding issue.
• lot of skips in motion watching content @ 4k hdr 60hz apple tv setting on apps such bbc iplayer. goes away when setting 50hz or lower.
• watching apple keynote, processing on top overly sharpened point things rendered.
• real racing 3, apple tv @ 4k hdr 60hz, experienced many lags , jitters when played opening 'tutorial' lap.

(all references hdr hdr10 me particular tv, doesn't support dolby vision)
 

samsung tv's add lot of processing features.
turning them off (especially smooth motion one) might choppiness.
also; on tv hd or 4k material, sharpness should @ 0.

ultimately; if can't tv play nice @ 60hz, run @ 50hz.

it's worth trying hdmi cable.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
