New MacBook Pro - Time Machine Restore


hi all

current mbp has been updated high sierra , latest time machine backup based on os. expecting delivery of new mbp, have sierra installed.

need update new mbp high sierra before restoring backup or can restore without need update first?

do not restore backup, instead use migration assistant extract stuff time machine backup.

restoring backup different hardware can cause issues, despite being unlikely. advise against doing high sierra since it's been released , still buggy.
