Boot G5 From USB?

was trying boot g5 usb flash drive earlier today. plugged in flash drive, booted open firmware, , typed this:

code:

boot ud:,\\:tbxi

unfortunately got prohibited sign.

method works mac mini g4, ibook g4, , imac g4. never working g5. there way boot g5 usb?

usually booting flash media, it's better idea execute bootx directly, such
boot ud:3,\system\library\coreservices\bootx
(assuming ud points proper usb device, , os x filesystem on third partition), seems more you're trying run copy of os x isn't compatible specific platform (maybe it's old?) or crashing on in kernel loading process.
