Who docks their rMB to be used with an external screen and how often?


so, i've had 2016 rmb m5 since december , been dream me. uses light serves me well.

however, , i've asked before monitors buy, thinking dock set used @ desk more screen real estate. best minimalistic possible (use macbook opened, monitor next it, use rmb keyboard, , maybe go external mouse or track pad.

question is, docking people, how find using it? getting dell u2417 (infinity edge, 1080p , not sure if looks worse retina), or dell u2515h (1440p) cheaper older , bezels not thin (but still thin). go dell u2717 (infinity edge, 1440p) cost $200 more.

considering getting light photo work , overall appreciate more screen real estate. getting apple usb-c hdmi adapter (unless guys recommend 3rd party).

won't gaming, don't need best monitor money can by, not pixelated.

tl;dr: find using dock set vs. rmb alone? also, usb-c hdmi / dell monitor recommendations?
 

you can drive 4k monitor @ 60 hz, if have appropriate dongle. (most support 30 hz @ 4k.)

have 2010 27" imac used 1440p monitor , it's not ideal. use because it's perfect aesthetic match 2017 27" imac, , because had it, image quality noticeably worse because it's not retina. works fine macbook 12", again, quality noticeably worse. i've been totally spoiled retina.

might recommend trying 4k monitor retina solution. actually, lg 27ud88-w apparently work @ 4kp60 no dongle @ all, single usb-c cable, , charge macbook too.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
