hello all. i'm repairing 2014 mba friend. oem toshiba ssd in failed ordered 240gb aura owc replace it. drive came in today. have installed , running, prompted digging after discovered computer sees drive external drive.
apparently did not enough research before ordering. seems owc aura drives not support trim, not support smart, have slower speeds, , 2 data ssds in raid configuration. thing aura has going 3 year warranty.
saw there company, mce technolgies, sells ssds compatible 2014 mbas. ssds support trim, support smart, , have speeds rival oem drive. downside 256gb comes 1 year warranty.
tempted return owc drive refund , order mcetech, have read less flattering things them company. experience these 2 companies , ssd offerings 2014 mba (macbookaor6,2)?
i've used owc ssds in 2011 , 2012 13 mba's. they've worked expected few years now. "look" regular (internal) drives.
