AppleTv4k FauxHDR?


like many of you, noticed turning on or off hdr option on video section of atv4k, changes brightness on tv.
not little, lot.
didn't noticed @ first because lights on, when room dark, different story.
experienced same thing itunes aac... , many people that, day claim there not difference between aac , lossless.
this, aac doesn't sound bad on cheap headphones (and yes, beats "cheap" headphones)
using grado rs1e, or fostex th900ii, hear huge difference between aac , regular cds.
think same thing happening itunes 4k; because when use atv4k on entry level vizio 4k non hdr, looks ok.
when use atv4k on samsung 65 8000 better tv (better because when side side playing sd hd or 4k wins hands down , not little, wife noticed it, lot) itunes 4k doesn't @ all.
guess i'm comparing video signal audio signal since know.
can feed crap music cheap headphones , sound ok.
can not feed crap music headphones because sound crap, worst cheaper headphones. (by cheaper don't mean $$, mean poorly design, cheaply made)

guess i'm trying is:

feeding vizio crappy 4k ok, feeding crappy 4k tv demands more crappy.

apples new formats saving space.
hecv , heic claim have same quality 4k , jpeg...
said aac when talk on keynotes...
love steve jobs, when said apple hi fi boombox audiophiles, started laughing hard...
understand... salesmen need make money.
 

yeah hdr looks awful on atv 4k. there no arguing that. turn hdr off , run in either rgb high mode or cycbcr 4.4.4 , better results. still not perfect... eh return it.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
