iOS 11 iPhone instability (spinning wheel) related to problem with automatic app update glitch?


i've had instability ios 11 on iphone 7+ every day, multiple times day, since installed ios 11 on launch day, end having restart phone resolve. has been case 11.0, 11.0.1 , 11.0.2.

when phone becomes unstable:
  1. the network activity spinner in top left spins continuously.
  2. the settings app can't opened. if tap on settings, opens blank app template white empty screen , never renders ui.
  3. some other apps, randomly can't opened. might open launch screen or blank settings. if hit home button after opening 1 of these stuck apps, springboard comes fraction of second, app screen reanimates open fraction of second, springboard comes up.
  4. some apps open have long lag of 5-15 seconds before interface usable , interactive.
  5. some apps open , work normally.
  6. eventually, entire phone become unresponsive.
  7. finally, after being unresponsive time, phone have blank black screen spinner in middle spin continually.
  8. the way phone work after hard reboot holding down sleep/wake , volume down few seconds.
if reboot phone when starts exhibit these symptoms holding down sleep/wake , sliding restart, before becomes unresponsive (item 6) phone reboots , works normally.

i've tried number of troubleshooting steps. thought might problem related on air installation of os, or system file corruption. 11.0.2. cleared phone entirely using "restore iphone..." itunes , restored itunes backup. did not resolve issues.

thought might related bluetooth problems, shut off bluetooth entirely past few days. did not resolve problem.

what have noticed last 2 times had instability there @ least 1 app shows updating, looks download complete , trying complete installation. in other words, there dark circle mask around icon , middle of loading part not dark. apps not launchable , cannot delete them springboard. after restart phone, mask gone , apps installed , usable.

i believe instability might caused problem @ end of app installation/update process. in order test theory, have gone gone itunes , app stores settings , turned off automatic downloads. if theory correct, instability should no longer occur.

if else having same symptoms above, can try turning off automatic downloads , report here if or not eliminate instability you.

also, if else having instability , has not turned off automatic downloads yet, please check see if have apps in updating state while phone still responsive , post observations here.

you restored itunes backup, problem. restore phone new. restoring backup restores devices how was, including software corruption issues.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
