E2E process to split fusion and replace HDD with SSD on iMac


i've read various articles split fusion drive , replace hdd ssd on late 2014 27" imac still not sure of end end process.

split fusion first or replace hdd ssd? when in process bootable ssd portion created?
 

i split fusion drive first. select boot drive system preference startup disk.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
