Touchbar to show F keys on java application

hi everyone.

have nice new macbook pro - , have java application has bundled mac os launcher.

want particular application - f1 - f12 keys show default on touch bar.

have gone system preferences -> keyboard -> shortcuts - fn keys , added application via supplied launcher list of applications.

due nature of application (java) - program launches "ibm host on-demand".

have added shortcuts fn keys here:

application installed here:

when application launches seems 'start application' believe wscachedloader - java unix process kicked off 'host on-demand' launcher seen above.

appears match closely jar in applications/hostondemand folder:

long , short of - when launch host on-demand, f keys not show on keyboard. cannot add wscachedloader2.jar f keys shortcut list of apps - presumably because not launcher type.

ideas on how can make application 'recognised' keyboard shortcuts fn type when launch it, f keys appears in touchbar?

i don't have touchbar mbp. advice i'm giving based on know java. in java, .jar files not have executable code i'm guessing that's why doesn't work. program that's executing what's called jvm (java virtual machine). you'd have find program. that, you'd need go terminal , type "which java". give path jvm. on computers, /usr/bin/java (which symbolic link, won't matter). try entering application want function keys work.

wrinkle in /usr directory isn't visible default. should go finder preferences, under "devices" select "hard disks". then, when selecting application, go "other ..." @ bottom. select drive. system directories not appear. press command(apple key)-shift-.(period) (3 keys together). should show /usr directory.

if doesn't work, there possible complications on why doesn't, explanation of take long. (or may not possible make work.) if doesn't work - double-click on "ibm host on-demand" , works? if so, if go terminal app , type in "java -version" , post results of command.
