Cannot get OS X to reinstall on iMac


i trying reinstall os x on 2009 erased imac. when trying input apple id , password reinstall, "try again later" message since apple id not original 1 install software. have tried downloading software (sierra since el capitan not available in app store) under apple id didn't make difference.

have tried 1000 times internet recovery option work in order reinstall os x on imac , not work. thing can think of wireless keyboard isn't connecting until after need press ctrl opt r. have attempted use disk maker came error.

appreciated. sold imac friend , i'm trying , running her. didn't want sell begin band-aid coming off slowly...

i don't think "internet recovery" works on macs before 2010 models @ earliest.

opinion follows.

if don't have copy of el capitan installer, you're going have download source other apple. make difficult obtain older versions of software.

have no problems downloading such "sources".
others here do.
whether wish so, you.

if have copy of el capitan installer, best bet use usb flash drive of 16gb or larger create bootable version of installer on flash drive.

this, can use:
- diskmaker x
or
- install disk creator
or
- terminal

boot mac usb flash drive , install way.

if none of above option, can go on ebay , buy flash drive el cap installer installed , "ready go".

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
