2009 Mac Pro 5.1 and Sierra


i upgraded 2009 4.1 5.1 new x5677 cpu. went fine. upgraded gtx680 flashed, , made operations quicker, though geekbench scores stayed same.

next step sierra on el capitan , installed that. software works far. lost paintbrush installed eazydraw instead. significant thing far i've lost wifi. not issue @ present since i'm using cable router.

right in thinking need swap wifi card bcm94322mc? looks fiddly do-able.

other common issues on horizon?
 

this reason sierra isn't supported on 2009 models, because wifi card (which optional) isnt supported. changing out pretty trivial not different changing ram stick.

seem have spent time , money trying modernise machine take plunge , pick 1 of ac wifi solutions on ebay comes ac , bt card mounted on adaptor. install fiddly mean better wifi speeds , support btle well.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
