Help me decide....13" vs. 15" MBP


haven't owned computer in 2.5 years. had 13" non-retina mbp before that. have used nothing 6+ , 7+, along ipad air 2 since, , honestly, it's been fine.

took job require me work remotely, , new baby, we're managing more pictures used to. work said can either use ancient 17" mbp or own. me , wife have decided 1 have @ home.

workload personal use basic email/web browsing/netflix. if i'm using work, i'll using 3 chrome windows each 6-8 tabs open @ time 10 hours straight, including making calls (through 1 of windows on our softphone).

light recording music. 1, maybe 2 tracks @ time logic pro x. no synths, heavy multitracking, or that.

there reason 15" mbp? i'm leaning towards base 13" non-touch bar version (which can friend who's apple employee 15% off, , ship state no sales tax).

went apple store , pulled work setup on , worked flawlessly on 13 , 15. know should 16gb of ram, i'm not sure it's worth how use it.
 

for tasks, think 13" suffice. 15" lot more money dubious features, touchbar. keep in mind 13" without touchbar has 2 thunderbolt ports, , 1 of them must used charging.

have 13" touchbar (8gb-it's fine) , ended being not-so-great value after speced 512 gb needed. in retrospect should have bit bullet , gone 15. if 13" non-touchbar meets needs, go it.

MBP extremely slow, HDD cable replaced, what next?

How much is my cMP worth?
